A decade of support for "Engineering the Future"

40 students from technical faculties in Cluj Napoca, Bucharest, lași and Ploiești received scholarships from Roberto Rocca Education Program.

2015 Roberto Rocca Education Program´s  edition marks a decade of support for technical education in Romania, at the most prestigious universities in the country.


This year 40 students received scholarships, including 22 studying at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN), 9 University Polytechnic of Bucharest (UPB), 5 Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" and 4 Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti. They are all students of engineering faculties such as mechanics, materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical energy, automation and computer engineering oil and gas.


Grant recipients were chosen by TenarisSilcotub,sponsoring Company in Romania, based on their academic and personal profile. Every awarded showed a strong set of compentencies: teamwork, communication, leadership, English language, analytical skills, and passion for engineering and innovation.


Grant recipients met on November 25 in Zalău, at the auditorium of the TenarisUniversity building. Authorities from the sponsoring companies and universities participated in the awarding event. They were congratulated by Carmen Avramescu, Senior Assistant Human Resources Tenaris Eastern Europe and the management team TenarisSilcotub and the 15 academics including prof. Dr. Ing. Catalin Popa, Vice-rector UTCN, prof. Dr. Eng. Michael Abrudean, Deputy Senate UTCN, and prof. Dr. Eng. Cristian Doicin from Polytechnic University
