We celebrated Roberto Rocca Education Day with events in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, and Mexico
Since June 2022, the Techint Group has held Education Day in honor of Roberto Rocca, commemorating his legacy in education. Scholarships were also awarded in some countries.
In Argentina, the event took place at the Roberto Rocca Technical School (ETRR) in Campana. Paolo Rocca, President of the Techint Group, attended alongside prominent figures from the educational field and members of the local community to discuss the current and future educational landscape.
The gathering, which brought together more than 400 people, included Carlos Torrendell, Secretary of Education of Argentina; María Laura García, Chief Human Resources Officer of Tecpetrol; Graciana Rucci, Lead Specialist in Labor Markets at the IDB; María Brown Pérez, former Minister of Education of Ecuador and current Executive Director of Fundación Crisfe; and Cláudia Costin, former Minister of Education of Rio de Janeiro and current Director of the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Educational Policies at Fundação Getulio Vargas, among other key figures.
During the event, Paolo Rocca said:
Community supports industry, and education is the fundamental component of progress, developing talents within all communities. Education, merit, and talent are the three pillars of development and growth,” said Paolo Rocca during the event."

In Monterrey, Mexico, the Education Day was held at ETRR Pesquería, where 975 scholarships were awarded to students. Máximo Vedoya, CEO of Ternium, highlighted: “For us, education is the best way to promote progress and development, both individually and collectively; it is the way to transmit values, industrial values in this case, that promote an orderly, committed, and respectful society.”
In Veracruz, the event was chaired by Cecilia Bilesio, Vice President of Tamsa, A.C. More than 160 directors, teachers from educational institutions, and students participated. Here too, Roberto Rocca Scholarships were awarded to 250 secondary and technical secondary school students and 88 university students.

In Santa Cruz, Brazil, Titus Schaar, President of Ternium Brazil, led the event where 300 scholarships were awarded. Roberta Barreto, Secretary of Education of Rio de Janeiro, was also present.
Celebrations in Pindamonhangaba included the awarding of scholarships to 220 secondary and university students and a talk by Paralympic athlete Daniel Dias. For the first time, the event included training for local school teachers and directors, including teachers of extracurricular activities.

In Colombia, Education Day celebrations were marked by five events, attended by Martín Ceballos, Human Resources Senior Director. A total of 100 scholarships were awarded to outstanding students from secondary school students.
Finally, in Dalmine, Italy, as part of Roberto Rocca Education Day at Fondazione Dalmine, activities were carried out with secondary school students, including an immersive experience in new laboratories.
