The new school in Brazil, which will host 576 students in the next three years, will offer Mechatronics and Electromechanics programs for young people from Santa Cruz and the surrounding region.

“Estoy muy feliz, realizada y agradecida por todo y con la certeza de que éste es sólo el comienzo de mi camino”. Ese es el espíritu no sólo de Vitória Guedes, de 15 años, sino de los 192 alumnos que comenzaron su año escolar en la primera generación de la Escuela Técnica Roberto Rocca en Brasil.
“I am very happy, fulfilled and grateful for everything and with the conviction that this is only the beginning of my journey.” This is the spirit not only of Vitória Guedes, 15 years old, but also of all the 192 students who began their scholastic year in the first generation of the Roberto Rocca Technical School in Brazil.
The statement was made during the school's first day of classes this past Tuesday, February 11, where the students were involved in activities such as round tables, and got to know the industrial center, in addition to listening to the professional stories of Ternium employees.
After a long selection process and a propaedeutic course, students are prepared for an integrated education at the intermediate and technical levels in the areas of Mechatronics and Electromechanics, with a full schedule. Initially, classes will be held in a provisional space prepared to meet the needs of the first generation. The technical school building will be completed in the second semester of this year.
This is an important step towards the overall process that started in 2018, when an educational diagnostic of the region was commanded, followed by the building plan for the school, the groundbreaking ceremony in 2023, the beginning of leveling the land and the placement of the structure on the margin of Rodovia Rio-Santos.

According to Júlio Egreja, Principal of the Roberto Rocca Technical School in Santa Cruz,
Today is a day of celebration and gratitude. We are very happy, as the unit will bring many positive changes to the community, both in educational and socio-cultural life. It is a community and an industry transforming lives and growing together."
For Fernanda Candeias, Ternium Brazil's Institutional and Community Relations Director, access to quality education will make a difference in the lives of the new students. “Our goal is to be closer and closer to the Santa Cruz community, it is our priority. We designed every detail of the school, with determination, and we are convinced that this is the way for many teenagers to find better opportunities for professional development and a better quality of life,” she said.
Erika Bienek, Global Director of Community Relations for the Techint Group, highlighted the company's commitment to the community and education, and commemorated the project, which is now also part of the group of technical schools built in Argentina and Mexico. She also highlighted the values she expects from the students throughout the following years: “We want students to have a promising future and we expect they keep our fundamental values, which are honesty, persistency, excellence and teamwork.”
“This is a significant moment for Ternium and for the region. We believe that by investing in the technical and integrated training of students, we are contributing to their future and that of society as a whole. My gratitude to those who worked tirelessly to make it all possible,” concluded Titus Schaar, President of Ternium Brazil.
